Senior Network and Security Engineer

Description: This role involves technical leadership and ownership of the support and maintenance of functions across a defined portfolio of Connectivity and Network Security services. The position requires problem avoidance, efficient recovery from disruptions, and execution and technical leadership of the Connectivity Network Security technology elements of Business Continuity Plans. The role also includes working closely with the IT leadership team to provide input to Connectivity Network Security investment plans and ensure alignment between technology and business for effective and secure networking of production systems. Collaboration with other Bupa IT teams is essential to ensure new Connectivity Network Security services are designed, built, and tested to be fit for purpose, secure, and strategically aligned with Bupa’s Enterprise standards and policies. A critical part of this role is the delivery of Network Modernisation and assisting in the design, build, and operation of cloud-focused SSE platforms

Responsibilities:

• Technical leadership and ownership of the support and maintenance of Connectivity and Network Security services
• Demonstrate problem avoidance, efficient recovery from disruptions, and execution and technical leadership of Business Continuity Plans
• Provide input to Connectivity Network Security investment plans and ensure alignment between technology and business
• Collaborate with other Bupa IT teams to ensure new services are designed, built, and tested to be fit for purpose, secure, and strategically aligned
• Deliver Network Modernisation and assist in the design, build, and operation of cloud-focused SSE platforms

Requirements:

• 10+ years of Network and Security expertise
• Experience with Cloud Security Solutions SSE (Zscaler preferred & ideally also Palo Alto Prisma Cloud)
• Firewall management (PA, Firepower, Checkpoint)
• SDWAN NextGen Networks (ideally)
• WAF Firewall Management (Cloudflare/Barracuda preferred)
• FW management platforms (Algosec preferred)
• Routing and Switching
• Wireless solutions (Enterprise Prime and Meraki Wireless)
• Cloud solutions (Azure preferred)
• Meraki solutions (Routing/Switching/Wireless)
• Cisco Routing and Switching and Wireless LAN (WLAN)
• NAC solutions (Forescout preferred)
• Monitoring Toolsets (Solarwinds ideally)
• Telephony VOIP knowledge useful
• DDOS Vulnerability experience
• Managing Changes via ITSM tools such as ServiceNow
• Data Centre Trust Zones expertise
