Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Linux Engineer to join a major application migration initiative that is part of a large-scale data center migration program. The applications involved support critical business processes related to payment card acceptance, acquiring, and issuer processing.

The Linux operating system is the core platform for key transaction authorization and processing systems. It serves both as the environment for closed application systems and as the layer where essential application functions are executed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Linux engineering tasks within the application migration stream.

• Collaborate closely with Application & Middleware teams to support BAU and project-related activities.

• Work with Project Managers on environment build, testing, and migration activities.

• Prepare and execute infrastructure-related tasks such as server builds, configurations, access requests, and troubleshooting blockers.

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues across Linux-based systems.

• Monitor system performance, reliability, and stability.

• Create and maintain high‑quality, up-to-date technical documentation (e.g., Confluence).

• Work effectively with SMEs from different countries and support knowledge sharing within the team.

Required Technical Skills

• Administration, configuration, and maintenance of Linux server environments (RedHat, Oracle Linux).

• Experience with application servers, including:

  • JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, OHS, WildFly, Spring Boot

• Hands-on experience with automation tools: Rundeck, Ansible.

• Ability to design and maintain server infrastructure ensuring high availability, performance, quality, and security.

• Strong expertise in:

  • advanced Linux system administration,

  • cryptography concepts (PKI, PGP),

  • IP network management,

  • scripting (Bash or Python).

• Ability to quickly understand complex infrastructure landscapes.

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve problems efficiently.
