Overview

We are looking for an experienced Azure Expert to join a long-term project focused on migrating a Java application from on-premises infrastructure to Azure Cloud. The role involves designing and implementing a robust migration strategy, leveraging modern cloud technologies, and ensuring scalability, security, and compliance throughout the process.

Responsibilities

• Develop migration strategy and roadmap for Java application and Oracle DB.

• Assess existing on-prem architecture and design Azure-based target architecture (IaaS/PaaS).

• Configure Azure resources: VMs, App Services, AKS, Networking, Storage.

• Perform application rehosting/re-platforming and containerization using Docker and AKS.

• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform and ARM templates.

• Configure networking components (VNET, Subnets, NSGs, App Gateway, Load Balancers).

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.

• Implement monitoring and observability with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.

• Apply Azure security best practices and ensure compliance.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Azure services: Virtual Machines, App Services, AKS, Storage Accounts, Networking.

• Strong knowledge of Java application migration strategies.

• Proficiency in IaC tools: Terraform, ARM templates, Bicep.

• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration on Azure.

• Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins).

• Understanding of Oracle DB migration to Azure.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-Have

• Exposure to Azure Migrate and AppCAT for Java code assessment.

• Experience with multi-region Azure architecture and scaling solutions.

• Knowledge of monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, or ELK Stack.
