ERGO Technology & Services S.A. (ET&S S.A.) was established in January 2021 following the integration of ERGO Digital IT and Atena into one entity, leveraging both companies’ strengths and best practices. As a part of ERGO Technology & Services Management AG, the technology holding of ERGO Group AG, we support millions of internal and external customers with state-of-the-art IT solutions to everyday problems.

In October 2022, ET&S S.A. expanded its scope of operations by creating a Business Services unit to contribute in a new way to the growth of ERGO’s business. Acting as a co-partner and internal consultant, it adds non-IT value and supports the development of the entire ERGO Group, currently offering skills in reporting, analysis, actuarial, and input management. How you will get the job done

• being responsible for the implementation of solutions especially with Microsoft technologies (Visual Studio & .Net, SQL Server, MS Azure, …) but also with other technologies like R, TM1, or SAP ABAP

• mapping of business requirements to systems/technical requirements

• designing and coding of complex changes to our products under consideration of architecture  and coding guidelines

• specifying and executing tests

• participating in installation, configuration, and customizing of different products

• supporting the release upgrades

• provisioning technical documentation

• technical application supporting, solving of incidents and problems

• managing technical subprojects

• being responsible for the adherence to appropriate standards (coding, performance, monitor capability, audit acceptability, secure environment)

• supporting the review of systems designs to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple systems and technology

• coaching of Application Developers in software development capabilities

• working in bigger teams where good communication skills are needed

Skills and experience you will need

• speaking and writing English fluently

• holding a university degree in computer engineering, IT, or a similar qualification

• gaining several years of experience in software development as both a developer and architect, and developing in-depth knowledge of the full software development and product life cycle

• applying strong knowledge of clean coding, object-oriented development principles, design patterns, and agile development practices, while also adopting DevOps approaches

• working with deep technical expertise in Microsoft technologies such as Visual Studio, .NET, SQL Server, and MS Azure, and gaining experience with other tools like TM1, R, and SAP ABAP

• designing and maintaining systems architecture, service-based architectures, enterprise-level solutions, and cloud-based architectures

• managing expectations by evaluating alternatives and balancing them against business and financial constraints

• practicing test-driven design, unit testing, and implementing automated testing frameworks

• delivering successful implementations that are creating measurable value for the business 

• demonstrating a strong work ethic, operating at a fast pace, and managing well under pressure

• fostering a cooperative working style, promoting accountability, and encouraging knowledge sharing

• communicating effectively and engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
