About the role 
We are seeking a Strategic License Manager who will be responsible for the successful execution of our Group-wide Renewal Service for software and SaaS contracts. In this role, you will work closely with IT Product Managers, Central Procurement, and an external license management service provider to ensure proactive, compliant, and cost-optimized renewals. You will also oversee the license management portfolios of selected strategic software vendors. If you enjoy working at the intersection of IT, procurement, and finance and want to shape a compliant and cost-efficient software landscape across a large international Group, this role offers the opportunity to drive a strategic, Group-wide renewal service covering around 1,000 IT software/SaaS vendors and 800 IT Product Managers.

How you will get the job done: 

• owning the concepts, documentation, processes, and delivery of the Group-wide license contract Renewal Service

• participating in the preparation and execution of renewal interviews with IT Product Managers and business owners

• creating, monitoring, and continuously improving KPIs to measure and ensure successful service delivery

• steering and coordinating the external license management service provider, and monitoring service fulfillment

• managing Tier-1 software/SaaS vendor license portfolios to support compliance and cost-effective contract renewals

• collaborating closely with Central Procurement and key stakeholders to align renewal strategies with business and budget requirements

Skills and experience you will need: 

• fluency in English

• relevant professional qualification (e.g., university degree in Finance, Economics, Information Technology, or a related field)

• strong customer focus and ability to navigate complex topics across IT, business, and procurement

• proven experience in software/SaaS licensing and cost optimization in complex IT environments

• high degree of independence, ownership, and drive to take on responsibility for end-to-end service delivery

• consulting and collaborative working style, fostering a culture of accountability and knowledge sharing

• high level of service orientation and internal/external client focus, combined with strong operational efficiency

Nice to have 

• experience working with external service providers and/or in vendor management

• experience in multinational organizations and distributed stakeholder environments

• familiarity with software asset management tools and frameworks
