About the role
We are seeking a Head of ERGO Engineering to lead the design and build of our global production network, covering all aspects of data networking capabilities. As part of the Global Network organization and reporting to the Global Head of Network, you will manage a multinational engineering function responsible for WAN, LAN, SD-WAN, cloud connectivity, network security, and related services. This is a senior leadership role requiring strong ownership, strategic thinking, and the ability to lead a globally distributed engineering team.
How you will get the job done
leading and managing a global network engineering function delivering:
WAN, LAN, SD-WAN, cloud connectivity, capacity design, Wi-Fi, routing and switching
Network security capabilities (firewalls, proxy, IPS/IDS)
DDI services (DHCP, DNS & IP Address Management)
Hardware design, selection, and evaluation testing
overseeing the design and implementation of enterprise-wide network infrastructure supporting over 10,000 users globally
ensuring high availability and stability by driving root cause analysis for production outages and defining design criteria to eliminate repeat incidents
managing vendors and Managed Service Providers, including R&D collaboration, roadmap planning, and performance reviews
building and leading a global team (10–20 FTE) of internal and external network engineers and specialists, including staffing, development, and performance management
driving strategic initiatives such as site migrations, cloud integration, SD-WAN rollouts and other network-related projects, in close cooperation with CIO, CISO, and application leaders
planning and managing network infrastructure budget (CAPEX and OPEX), with financial authority for project spend according to internal delegation levels
Skills and experience you will need
fluent English, written and spoken (business level)
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
minimum 8–10 years of experience in network engineering, including at least 3–5 years in a leadership or managerial role
strong knowledge of network architecture, routing & switching, firewalls, VPNs, SD-WAN, and cloud networking
experience with major networking and security vendors (e.g. Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto, Fortinet) and public cloud networking (e.g. AWS, Azure)
strong skills in network planning, capacity management, and risk assessment
familiarity with ITIL processes and agile project management methodologies
proven leadership experience in multinational environments and cross-functional collaboration
excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
strategic mindset with strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure
Nice to have
advanced industry certifications (e.g. CCNP/CCIE, Juniper JNCIE)
experience in large-scale enterprise environments with global network footprints
experience driving cost optimization and innovation in network operations
