We are seeking a Senior Wintel Engineer with Chef to support the automation of patching, vulnerability remediation, and compliance activities—primarily focusing on legacy Windows infrastructure (Wintel)—while contributing to the adoption of broader DevOps practices.
Our client is a prominent bank operating in Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, currently undertaking a global IT transformation. As part of this initiative, they are migrating from legacy on-premise infrastructure to AWS Cloud. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a major modernization effort and play an essential role in redefining the core technology ecosystem of a regional financial leader.
This fully remote role allows you to work from anywhere in Poland, whether from home or one of our modern offices located in Gdańsk, Katowice, Kraków, Łódź, Warsaw, or Wrocław.
Responsibilities
Automate patching and security compliance for on-premises systems using Chef Cookbooks
Ensure CIS compliance and address vulnerabilities across legacy infrastructure
Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate the transition from outdated platforms to AWS
Improve infrastructure automation and maintain CI/CD pipelines
Drive cloud platform modernization and enhance operational readiness
Requirements
Expertise in Chef automation, with proven ability to manage infrastructure workflows
Strong background in Wintel, involving Windows-based enterprise infrastructure
Knowledge of Terraform and Terragrunt
Proficiency in AWS Cloud Infrastructure
Understanding of CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions
Skills in Docker and Kubernetes for containerization
Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks, particularly CIS benchmarks
Nice to have
Background in IT integration projects related to large-scale transformations or mergers
Knowledge of the banking or financial services industry
