Senior Java Software Engineer

As a Senior Java Software Engineer, join a dynamic technology team at the heart of a leading global investment bank’s regulatory transformation.

As a Software Engineer in the Markets Regulation Stream, you will help shape the strategic backbone that powers global Market Regulatory systems. Working within an agile pod, you’ll deliver platforms that ensure trade executions seamlessly flow to Market Regulatory applications, supporting a multi-year strategy to modernize the technology stack and leverage cloud technologies.

Your work will enable the Investment Bank to meet diverse regulatory obligations by digitalizing and unifying reporting capabilities. You’ll play a key role in building resilient, scalable solutions across data ingestion, enrichment, storage, analytics, and delivery

This role offers a hybrid model, with 3 days per week working from the client's office in Krakow or Wroclaw, Poland.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop strategic platforms for trade and transaction regulatory reporting across multiple regions and regulators

• Translate epics and features into high-quality, production-ready functionality using modern engineering practices

• Collaborate within a Scrum team to plan, develop, test, and deliver increments that meet stakeholder requirements

• Partner with Product Owners and business stakeholders to understand requirements and shape solutions

• Contribute to the stability, health, and evolution of the regulatory reporting platform

• Embrace DevOps principles to build, test, deploy, and monitor services via automated CI/CD pipelines

• Support the drive toward cloud-native, data-centric architectures, reusing data assets and simplifying reporting flows

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical discipline (or comparable certification/experience)

• Strong back-end engineering expertise with Java

• Proven track record implementing DevOps practices and CI/CD using Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab, or similar tools

• Significant experience applying Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing strategies

• Hands-on delivery experience with cloud environments—Azure preferred; AWS or GCP also valued

• Sound knowledge of software design principles and patterns

• Familiarity with modern data processing paradigms (streaming, real-time, and batch)

• Exposure to technologies such as Databricks, Kubernetes, and Kafka

• Experience working in regulated financial domains

• Familiarity with data mesh concepts and AI-driven analytics
