Senior Java Engineer

You will be joining a multidisciplinary agile team within a global financial institution that works in close partnership with the business and delivers to production frequently. You will also collaborate with the wider engineering community to enhance platform capabilities, contribute to shared initiatives, and deliver state-of-the-art solutions.

The platform is an award-winning digital ecosystem that enables businesses and developers to rapidly deliver innovative products to clients and employees. It currently supports over a hundred applications, millions of users, and a large community of engineers, with significant growth expected as the next generation of the platform is developed.

This role offers a hybrid model, allowing you to work three days a week from our office in Kraków or Wroclaw

Responsibilities

• Design and develop technology solutions that will solve business problems and strengthen our position as digital leaders in financial services

• Apply a broad range of software engineering best practices, from analysing user needs and developing new features to automated testing and deployment

• Ensure the quality, security, reliability and compliance of our solutions by applying our digital principles and implementing both functional and non-functional requirements

• Share knowledge and collaborate with others across the organization to achieve your objectives

• Manage and coach other engineers, providing guidance and supporting their personal development

Requirements

• Proficiency in the core Java programming language, experience with Java up to 17, preferably Java 21

• Experience with the Spring Java framework, including JPA

• Understanding of dependency management concepts and tools i.e. Apache Maven

• Experience with source control systems (e.g. Git), build tools and CI/CD

• Track record of delivering successful, complex, large-scale applications, preferably working on a platform

• Solid understanding of the fundamentals of computer science, including design patterns

• Knowledge of distributed systems and microservice architectures

• Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases

• Fluency in functional and non-functional testing practices

• Experience with RESTful web services and messaging systems

• Understanding of observability best practices

Nice to have

• Cloud experience is good but not a must, preferably with Azure knowledge
