Senior Java Developer (with DevOps)

We are seeking a skilled Java Developer with strong DevOps expertise to join our team in the banking and financial services sector. The ideal candidate combines solid backend development experience with the ability to work across both modern frameworks and legacy technologies. This role goes beyond coding—it requires hands-on involvement in automation, deployment, and cloud operations in Azure, ensuring reliable and scalable solutions.

You should bring proven knowledge of Kubernetes, Unix/Linux systems, Shell/Bash, and Python, along with excellent troubleshooting skills to quickly analyze and resolve issues in complex, production-grade environments. Working in a highly regulated financial domain, you will contribute to the stability, performance, and security of critical systems that support key banking operations.

This role offers a hybrid model, allowing you to work three days a week from our office in Kraków

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Java-based software and applications, contributing to all stages of the software development lifecycle

• Design, implement, and test web service/middleware applications using backend clusters

• Engineer components and common services based on standard corporate development models, languages, and tools

• Follow software engineering best practices and utilize automation for efficient solution delivery

• Collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production and development environments

• Ensure system reliability, performance, and security across environments

• Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing with the team

Requirements

• Proven experience in designing, developing, and maintaining backend services in Java

• Strong knowledge of modern frameworks (Spring Boot, Quarkus) as well as legacy stacks (Struts, JSP, JDBC)

• Hands-on experience with Oracle Database, including schema design, SQL, and PL/SQL programming

• Practical expertise in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, with deployments to Azure

• Proficiency in automation of deployment, monitoring, and scaling using App Services, Azure SQL, Kubernetes, and Docker

• Solid understanding of Unix/Linux environments, with scripting skills in Shell/Bash

• Ability to create and maintain automation tools and scripts in Python to support DevOps processes
