Senior Java Data Engineer

Join EPAM as a Senior Java Data Engineer on an innovative engineering team developing mission-critical software systems that support the planning and development of datacenters. You’ll contribute to a high-impact platform used by external customers to build next-generation applications and solutions.

You’ll be part of a modern, self-governing team focused on delivering scalable, high-performance platforms for the technology infrastructure sector. The project involves direct daily communication with the client, rapid prototyping, and Proof of Concept development based on architectural designs. This role offers a hybrid model, with 3 days per week working from the client's office in Kraków, Wrocław, or Gdańsk, Poland.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and product managers to design and implement scalable platform solutions

• Develop Proof of Concepts and prototypes based on architectural guidelines

• Integrate and manage multiple data sources

• Configure and work with AI Agents as part of the solution

• Communicate directly with client stakeholders to clarify requirements and present solutions

• Ensure timely, high-quality delivery in a self-managed environment

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in software development and integration across the full system implementation lifecycle (analysis, design, implementation, build, test, support)

• 3+ years of hands-on Java experience

• Strong SQL skills

• Hands-on experience developing/configuring AI Agents

• Strong self-management and prioritization abilities

• Excellent English communication skills (B2 level), with proven experience in client-facing roles

Nice to have

• Experience with Python

• Skills in Agent configuration (e.g., Agent Development Kit or similar tools)

• Familiarity with AI Agent integration
