Senior Java Apache Flink Developer

We are seeking a Senior Java Apache Flink Developer to join our long-term engineering team, partnering with a leading client in the financial services industry. In this role, you will utilize Java, Apache Flink, Azure, and Kubernetes to create high-performance, secure applications that uphold market regulation platforms and contribute to safeguarding global financial markets.

This role offers a hybrid model, with 3 days per week working from the client's office in Krakow or Wroclaw, Poland.

Responsibilities

• Design backend services in Java aligned with microservice and cloud-native best practices

• Develop efficient data processing pipelines using Apache Flink

• Architect and implement cloud-native applications leveraging Microsoft Azure services such as App Service, Functions, and containerized solutions

• Manage containerized applications through Kubernetes with a focus on scalability and reliability

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including front-end developers, back-end developers, QA, Product, and DevOps experts to deliver comprehensive solutions

• Ensure code quality and contribute to testing, CI/CD processes, and production support in a DevOps delivery model

Requirements

• Proven history of Java backend development, with multiple years of experience

• Demonstrated expertise in Apache Flink focused on real-time data processing

• Background in utilizing Microsoft Azure services for cloud-native applications

• Competency in Kubernetes for container orchestration and application management

• Familiarity with microservices architecture and practices in cloud-native environments

• Previous work experience in agile environments with cross-functional teams

Nice to have

• Proficiency in big data technologies such as Kafka or Spark

• Background in financial markets or regulatory-focused systems

• Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines

• Expertise in distributed systems and high-performance computing
