Senior HPC Software Developer (C/C++)

We are looking for a highly qualified Senior Software Engineer with extensive expertise in C/C++ and a background in distributed storage systems to join our Client, a global leader in parallel file systems specializing in distributed storage solutions for the AI and high-performance computing sectors.

This is a fully remote role, providing flexibility to work from anywhere in Poland, whether from your home or one of our state-of-the-art offices located in Gdansk, Katowice, Krakow, Lodz, Warsaw, or Wroclaw.

Responsibilities

1. Take ownership of features or subsystems within distributed storage systems, contributing to design, development, and optimization
2. Exhibit proficiency in C/C++ programming, delivering efficient, high-quality, and maintainable code
3. Contribute to architectural decisions to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance align with top industry standards
4. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, architects, and product managers, to align development goals with project objectives
5. Identify code performance bottlenecks and optimize for multi-core and scale-out use cases to improve distributed storage system performance
6. Perform thorough code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and guide junior developers toward continuous improvement
7. Analyze technical challenges, propose innovative solutions, and implement them effectively

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
2. 5–8 years of professional experience in software development with a focus on distributed storage systems
3. Expertise in C/C++ programming with an in-depth understanding of data structures and algorithms
4. Proven leadership experience managing entire subsystems in large-scale storage development projects
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude with the capability to troubleshoot and optimize system performance
6. Familiarity with distributed file systems, network protocols, and parallel file systems
7. Effective communication skills and the ability to excel in a team-centric environment
8. Passion and proven ability to learn complex technical topics
9. English language fluency

Nice to have

1. Background in developing Linux kernel-level code
2. Flexibility to use programming languages like Python
