Senior Full-Stack Java Developer

We are working on a distributed project for a leading investment bank, focused on building and maintaining a Java backend with multiple frontends. The platform serves as a critical operational solution, providing high-quality reference data that enables various business and logistics functions across the organization. Regular releases deliver new features and enhancements to meet the needs of business users.

We are looking for an experienced Full-Stack Java Developer who feels equally confident working with cutting-edge frameworks as well as legacy technologies. You will be responsible for maintaining and modernizing existing systems, while also actively contributing to React-based user interfaces. This role offers the opportunity to combine deep backend expertise with hands-on frontend development, making a direct impact on the stability and evolution of a platform essential to the bank’s operations.

This role offers a hybrid model, allowing you to work three days a week from our office in Kraków.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize backend services in Java

• Work with both modern frameworks (Spring Boot, Quarkus) and legacy stacks (Struts, JSP, JDBC)

• Contribute to architectural design and system integration within a complex enterprise environment

• Collaborate with Oracle Database: schema design, SQL, and PL/SQL programming

• Manage CI/CD pipelines and deploy applications to Azure (App Services, Azure SQL, Kubernetes)

• Participate in UI development with React and TypeScript, closely collaborating with the frontend team

• Conduct code reviews, share knowledge, and mentor junior developers

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Java (8/11/17) with 3+ years of relevant experience

• Solid experience with modern frameworks (Spring, Spring Boot)

• Familiarity with legacy enterprise technologies (Struts, JSP, JDBC)

• Strong knowledge of Oracle Database, SQL, and PL/SQL

• Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining applications in Azure

• Practical knowledge of React and TypeScript, with a willingness to actively contribute to UI development

• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.)

• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, at a minimum B2 level

Nice to have

• Experience migrating legacy systems to modern technology stacks

• Understanding of microservices architecture principles

• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
