Senior DevOps Engineer (CMake)

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with expertise in CMake to join our team.

In this role, you will play a critical part in optimizing and managing our build systems, ensuring smooth workflows for modern C++ development, and supporting our efforts to maintain efficiency at scale.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the current CMake build system and identify improvement areas to streamline and modernize processes
• Design and deploy a robust, scalable, and efficient CMake build system tailored to contemporary standards
• Ensure compatibility of the build system with various compilers, tools, and configurations
• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to facilitate integration of the build system with existing tools and workflows
• Enhance automation by integrating scripts and tools that complement the build process
• Develop comprehensive documentation and conduct knowledge transfer sessions for team adoption of new processes
• Troubleshoot build issues and work proactively to provide long-term solutions to related challenges

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience in build system development with a proven track record in using CMake
• Proficiency in Linux-based operating systems and competency in using platform-specific tools like GCC and Ninja
• Background in C++ build systems, understanding core components like compilers, linkers, and dependency management
• Familiarity with shell scripting or Python for automation tasks
• Skills in troubleshooting, debugging build pipelines, and resolving related bottlenecks
• Capability to work autonomously while keeping stakeholders informed and ensuring project timelines are met
• Strong problem-solving skills coupled with exceptional attention to detail and technical precision

Nice to have

• Background in working with RHEL GCC Toolset and GitLab integration
• Familiarity with large-scale or enterprise-grade C++ build environments
• Fluency in English with strong communication skills, both written and verbal
