We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Platform Automation Engineer to join our FinOps team and play a key role in driving financial accountability and operational efficiency across our cloud environments.
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable automation solutions, optimize cloud resource utilization, and develop data-driven insights to support cost optimization initiatives.
Responsibilities
Design and implement Python-based solutions to generate cost forecasting reports using machine learning algorithms
Manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) configurations for Flexera to ensure secure access to cost data
Create and maintain rules for attributing cloud spending to specific workloads to enhance financial accountability
Consolidate and centralize data from multiple cloud resources into a database to identify optimization opportunities
Develop automation solutions using scripting languages such as PowerShell, JSON, and YAML to streamline operational processes
Build and deploy cloud resources using Infrastructure-as-Code tools including Terraform, Bicep, and Bash scripting
Integrate and synchronize CMDB data with internal tools via REST APIs to respond to configuration changes
Optimize and troubleshoot cloud monitoring tools to ensure system reliability and incident resolution
Design and manage solutions using Azure DevOps and GitHub for infrastructure and code deployment
Deliver thorough and clear documentation on Confluence to support internal teams and stakeholders
Collaborate with workload teams to propose cost-saving strategies aligned with the FinOps framework
Actively contribute to the FinOps community of practice to promote best practices and cross-functional knowledge sharing
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps Engineering, with hands-on expertise in Python web development using Flask and Jinja2
Proficiency with APIs, including integration and practical use in real-world scenarios
At least 3 years of advanced experience working with Microsoft Azure, with an interest in Google Cloud
Strong programming and scripting expertise in Python, PowerShell, or equivalent tools
Intermediate-to-advanced SQL knowledge with at least 3 years of application experience
Practical knowledge of automated deployment tools in agile development environments
Hands-on experience working with international, enterprise-level organizations and global service providers
Strong team collaboration skills with effective communication tailored to a variety of audiences
Demonstrated ability to adapt and implement new technical solutions to drive meaningful change
Meticulous attention to detail and proven ability to multitask efficiently under minimal supervision
Nice to have
Knowledge of cloud cost management platforms like Cloudability or Flexera
Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps
Background in using Swagger for API management and development
Experience with Agile, Scrum, or SAFe methodologies in collaborative project environments
