We are looking for an experienced Cloud Migration Engineer to support the modernization of an internal data and reporting platform in AWS. This role is focused on cloud-native transformation, not lift-and-shift migration, and will help move workloads from on-premises environments into managed AWS services and a lakehouse architecture.
Please note that this role requires working from the office in Warsaw 5 days a week initially (onboarding phase), then 3 days from the office.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute AWS migration patterns aligned to modernization goals, not simple rehosting
- Support migration of the internal data lake to AWS lakehouse-based storage and processing patterns
- Work with managed services, including solutions that support streaming, enrichment and scalable platform operations
- Evaluation and implementation of Apache Flink or similar streaming technologies where appropriate
- Partner with engineering and platform teams to choose the right AWS services and configurations for each workload
- Contribute to report onboarding and migration automation so manual migration of large report inventories is reduced
- Collaborate with delivery and operations stakeholders to ensure migration plans fit local team execution and governance requirements
Requirements
- Strong hands-on background in AWS cloud engineering
- Demonstrated experience with cloud modernization or migration programs
- Familiarity with managed services, lakehouse architecture and cloud-native operating models
- Expertise in stream processing technologies such as Apache Flink
- Capability to work as a cloud engineer with data understanding, rather than primarily a data engineer with limited cloud exposure
- Local presence in Warsaw and ability to work under a local-to-local contract
- Advanced proficiency in English (B2+/C1)
Nice to have
- Experience modernizing reporting or data platforms
