Oracle Engineer
We are seeking a highly motivated Oracle Engineer to join our dynamic team and ensure the seamless operation, maintenance, and optimization of Oracle database environments. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong technical background and a commitment to delivering high-quality database support in production and non-production settings.
The role follows regular business hours. Weekend on-call support may be required. On-call duty typically occurs once per month, with a maximum of two occurrences per month.
Responsibilities
Ensure smooth and reliable day-to-day operation of Oracle databases
Maintain database availability, performance, and security in production and non-production environments
Handle incidents, service requests, and routine maintenance tasks efficiently
Support senior DBAs in upgrades, patching, and performance-related activities
Contribute to documentation, automation, and process improvements
Monitor database availability, performance, space utilization, and scheduled jobs
Troubleshoot alerts and resolve L2-level incidents and problem tickets
Manage service requests, user access, permissions, and audit-related requirements
Support database builds, refreshes, cloning, and environment setup activities
Perform backup validation checks and assist with restore tests and DR drills
Create and modify database objects (tables, indexes, views) and support developers
Generate and analyze AWR/ASH reports for performance troubleshooting support
Maintain SOPs, configuration documents, runbooks, and operational guidelines
Participate in deployments and assist in executing database changes
Support automation and continuous improvement initiatives
Provide 24×7 rotational support as required
Requirements
2+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA
Good understanding of Oracle architecture, tablespaces, ASM, and RAC fundamentals
Experience with RMAN, Data Pump, monitoring tools, and backup/restore processes
Ability to troubleshoot common issues using alert logs, trace files, and diagnostics
Basic Linux administration and Shell scripting
Basic knowledge of at least one RDBMS: MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB
Strong analytical and communication skills
Fluency in English (both written and spoken) at a minimum B2 level
Nice to have
Familiarity with Data Guard concepts and basic configuration/monitoring
Knowledge of patching and upgrade processes using OPatch or related tools
Exposure to cloud environments, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Experience with automation or scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible)
Oracle certification (OCA or OCP)
