Tech Designer (Unity)
We are looking for a consultant who will be writing scripts and implementing game mechanics for our clients game.
Start: 1st of May
Length: 6 months with possible extension
Location: Stockholm/hybrid (must be on-site 2-3 days per week)
Design and Integration
Work with tech design to act as a bridge between design and tech. Do early risk assessment of new design and help create early prototypes. Implement art assets into the our Character Creator and Home Designer tool in Unity. Manage versions, codebases and assets to ensure that the integration of the features runs smoothly. All work is to be done in collaboration with designers to assure correct implementation.
Collaboration and Communication
Working closely with game designers, artists, other developers and quality assurance and similar teams and functions within the studio to achieve a cohesive and well-functioning Game.
Testing, Debugging and Documenting
Identifying, tracking, and resolving bugs and issues that arise during development and design. Continuously document the process for developing
Requirements:
Experience working in Unity with an understanding of technical requirements and limitations of the engine
Strong scripting ability in C#
Good understanding of basic game and systems design principles
Experience with iterative design, retaining a strong understanding the importance of prototyping, testing, gathering feedback and refining your designs
Portfolio showcasing relevant work, preferably projects for handheld or mobile devices
An understanding of open-ended play, experience stepping away from linear or classically competitive gameplay is a big plus
Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information in an accessible way
Fluent in written and spoken English
