SQL Server Database Engineer

• Rate: up to 135 pln/h net + VAT, B2B

• Location: Gdynia/Warsaw - hybrid (2 days per week in the office)

Summary: This role focuses on supporting the migration and operation of Microsoft SQL Server databases, ensuring secure and compliant services for critical applications, transitioning from on-premises to Google Cloud.

Main Responsibilities:

• Execute VMware to Google Cloud (GCE / VM-based) migrations for SQL Server databases

• Support migration planning, execution, validation, and post-migration stabilization

• Operate SQL Server databases in hybrid (on-prem + cloud) environments

• Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting

• Support database changes, releases, and incidents in line with ITSM processes

• Collaborate with Cloud Engineering, Security, and Application teams

• Ensure documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures are updated

Key Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA / Database Engineer

• Solid experience with SQL Server on Windows in enterprise environments

• Experience with cloud-based SQL Server deployments, preferably on Google Cloud (GCE)

• Experience with database migrations from on-prem to cloud

• Knowledge of High Availability / Disaster Recovery (e.g., Always On, clustering)

• Experience working in regulated environments (banking, finance, or similar)

• SQL Server performance tuning and troubleshooting expertise

Nice to Have:

• Experience with hybrid cloud setups

• Familiarity with infrastructure as code and automation concepts

• Exposure to audit, risk, or compliance requirements
