Solution Architect (Banking Domain – Microservices)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect with a strong background in the banking domain to lead and document low-level designs for a large-scale digital banking initiative. The role focuses on event-driven architecture and microservices, supporting mobile applications, API ecosystems, and gateway technologies. This is a remote role based in Egypt, supporting a high-impact project in Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and document low-level architecture (LLD) for digital banking solutions.

• Develop scalable and secure event-driven architectures and microservices-based systems.

• Define architecture for mobile applications, backend services, and integration layers.

• Work extensively with API gateways (e.g., Kong) and API management frameworks.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, DevOps, and business stakeholders.

• Ensure solutions meet banking regulatory, security, and compliance standards.

• Provide technical guidance and architectural governance throughout the project lifecycle.

• Support integration with core banking systems and third-party services.

Key Requirements

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect in the banking or financial services sector.

• Strong expertise in event-driven architecture.

• Proficient in microservices design patterns.

• API design and management skills.

• Hands-on experience with Kong API Gateway or similar tools.

• Experience designing architectures for mobile applications and backend systems.

• Strong understanding of integration patterns and messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.

• Excellent documentation skills, particularly in low-level design documents.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a remote, distributed team environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience working on projects in the GCC region, especially KSA.

• Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance frameworks.

• TOGAF or similar architecture certifications are a plus.

Other Engagement Details

• Contract Duration: 12 months with potential for extension.

• Remote work from Egypt with collaboration across regional teams.

• Must be available to work in KSA time zone/working hours.

• Minimal travel to KSA if required.
