We are looking for an SME VMware/Omnissa VDI Expert (m/w/d).
Mandatory requirement: willingness to undergo and successfully pass the SÜ2 security clearance!

Location: remote, Occasional on-site appointments in the Netherlands
Main Tasks
Technical responsibility for the setup, operation, further development and optimization of virtual desktop infrastructures with VMware Horizon
Administration, configuration and troubleshooting of Horizon components and VDI services
Integration and operation of profile, container and user management solutions, especially FSLogix, VMware DEM and profile management
Design, operation and optimization of user profiles, roaming profiles, profile containers and Office/application container concepts
Integration and operation of workflows, GFS and distribution dates for the provision of user-related data
Support of VDI design, image management, Golden Images, desktop pools, app provisioning and lifecycle processes
Integration of VMware Horizon into virtualized infrastructure environments, including vSphere / VCF-relevant components
Troubleshooting and performance optimization in VDI, profile and login processes
Use of monitoring and analysis tools for end-user experience, login times, session behavior and resource utilization
Automation of operating system and software provisioning using PowerShell, PowerCLI, Ansible and DSC
Collaboration with DevOps, infrastructure, network, storage and security teams for the integration of the VDI platform into operations and CI/CD processes
Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, operating manuals, configuration descriptions and troubleshooting guides
Communication with international contact partners; good English skills required
Functional Requirements
In-depth knowledge of:
VMware Horizon / VDI Architectures
Horizon Connection Server, Unified Access Gateway, Desktop Pools, Instant Clones / Linked Clones, Golden Images and Image Lifecycle Management
FSLogix Profile Containers, Office Containers, Cloud Cache and troubleshooting of profile issues
VMware Dynamic Environment Manager / DEM
Profile management, roaming profiles and application masking
VMware App Volumes / Application Packaging and application deployment in VDI environments
Windows Work Folders, Windows Distributed File System / DFS and user-related data storage concepts
vSphere / VCF9-relevant fundamentals for VDI operations, including compute, storage and network dependencies
Windows client and server operating systems in a VDI context
GPOs, login scripts, user environment settings and policy-based configurations
Login VSI, ControlUp or comparable end-user monitoring and performance analysis tools
Analysis of login times, profile loading processes, session stability, application startup and resource utilization
Good technical understanding of:
DevOps methodologies and operational processes
Automation using PowerShell, PowerCLI, Ansible and DSC
GitLab CI/CD pipelines
Terraform or comparable Infrastructure-as-Code approaches
Interfaces to network, storage, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, PKI and security baselines
