The role of the Senior Platform Engineer is focused on enhancing and maintaining the Internal Developer Platform (IDP) using AWS and Kubernetes. This position is critical for ensuring that the teams within the organization can efficiently deploy and manage applications, while also driving reliability and security.
The Senior Platform Engineer will take charge of developing and optimizing the Internal Developer Platform. Key duties include:
- Design, build, and maintain the Internal Developer Platform (IDP) on AWS & Kubernetes (EKS).
- Onboard new product teams and support existing users with platform usage, deployment workflows, and incident response.
- Manage and evolve the infrastructure-as-code setup using Terraform.
- Maintain GitOps workflows using ArgoCD, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
- Automate platform provisioning, service templates, and CI/CD pipelines to reduce cognitive load on developers.
- Collaborate with security, frontend, and backend teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable delivery practices.
- Continuously improve platform observability, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
- Deep experience with AWS, EKS, and Terraform.
- Hands-on experience with ArgoCD, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
- Proven track record in building and operating platform tooling used by other engineering teams.
- Strong communication and documentation skills - knowledge needed to support programmers and simplify complex systems.
- Programming experience with TypeScript and/or Python.
- Experience with Datadog or New Relic for observability.
- Exposure to Knative and serverless patterns in Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Cloudflare CDN and Cloudflare Workers.
- Understanding of frontend technologies like Next.js and React to better support full-stack teams.
