Senior Mechanical Designer (Sheet Metal Cabinets / Rack Design)

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Designer with a strong background in sheet metal design and structural engineering to take full ownership of critical rack design projects. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop robust, manufacturable enclosures for advanced battery and energy storage systems used in demanding maritime applications.

The successful candidate will support an innovative company based in Stockholm that develops cutting‑edge battery systems and energy storage solutions known for high safety standards, compact architecture, and long operational life

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and engineering of sheet metal cabinets, racks, and enclosures for battery and power electronic systems, ensuring structural integrity, manufacturability, serviceability, and compliance with industry standards.

• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering teams to integrate components such as busbars, power distribution hardware, cooling systems, and battery modules into the rack architecture.

• Ensure designs meet functional, safety, and environmental requirements

• Review and optimize designs for manufacturability and cost efficiency

• Create and maintain detailed CAD models, engineering drawings, structural analysis reports, and design documentation.

• Support prototype builds, testing, and design validation activities.
