Senior AI Engineer
We are looking for a senior, hands-on AI engineering position, embedded within the core product team, alongside full-stack, frontend, backend, and DevOps engineers. The primary purpose of this role is twofold:
Institutional AI knowledge ownership — ensuring that deep AI engineering expertise developed through the Microsoft partnership is embedded within the organization, serving as the internal anchor for all AI engineering decisions and best practices as the product scales.
European timezone AI engineering lead — acting as the daily connection point between the development team and the Microsoft AI Acceleration Studio teams, enabling continuous, integrated AI development across the full team.
This is a rare opportunity to conduct advanced AI engineering in a regulated pharma environment, impacting drug development decisions and helping architect the self-learning systems that will define the next generation of clinical AI tooling.
Main Responsibilities
Co-own and evolve the AI agent architecture in collaboration with Microsoft’s AI Acceleration Studio, ensuring deep internal capability and understanding of every architectural decision.
Design, build, and maintain agentic tooling, including agent skills, tool definitions, and dynamic code generation patterns.
Lead the engineering of the self-learning loop, designing feedback and evaluation infrastructure for continuous improvement.
Serve as the European timezone AI engineering anchor, ensuring continuity and integration between teams.
Translate AI engineering best practices into the broader development team, upskilling colleagues on agentic patterns.
Own and evolve the evaluation framework for the agent, including performance metrics and SME scoring pipelines.
Collaborate on prompt engineering and agent iteration in a clinical environment.
Ensure production-grade AI engineering standards, including compliance with pharma regulatory requirements.
Contribute to the expansion of the agent into commercial data domains and competitive intelligence.
Key Requirements
6+ years of software engineering experience, focused on AI/ML engineering in production.
Deep expertise in building agentic AI systems, including architectures and multi-step reasoning pipelines.
Strong proficiency in LLM integration and prompt engineering.
Experience designing sandboxed code execution environments for AI agents.
Proficiency in Python (essential), with solid understanding of APIs and data pipelines.
Experience building evaluation frameworks for AI systems.
Proven ability to work in distributed, cross-timezone teams.
Fluency in English, written and verbal.
Nice to Have
Experience with large enterprise AI partnerships (e.g., Microsoft, Google).
Familiarity with clinical data environments or biostatistics tooling.
Experience with SQL generation or statistical analysis automation.
Background in RAG, knowledge grounding, or domain-specific fine-tuning.
Exposure to responsible AI or regulated industry deployment.
Experience contributing to continuous learning AI systems.
Familiarity with Azure AI or Microsoft AI platform stack.
Start: ASAP
Duration: 12 months
Location: Greater Copenhagen Area
