SAP Senior ABAP Developer – Remote

We are seeking an experienced SAP Senior ABAP Developer with a strong focus on innovation and proficiency in S/4HANA development. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of ABAP programming, with proven expertise in the latest SAP

technologies and development methodologies.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Quality assurance & governance: Ensure robust ABAP delivery through strong QA practices and governance of build standards.

• Design and develop POCs of applications in S/4HANA using ABAP, RAP, CDS views, OData, and Fiori element/UI5.

• Support Clean Core development practices, ensuring minimal modifications and maximizing the use of standard SAP extensibility.

• Review and approve technical designs, code, and configurations to ensure adherence to enterprise standards and SAP best practices.

• Explore and evaluate solutions using new SAP technologies (RAP, CAP, SAP Build, Event-Driven Architecture, SAP Event Mesh, Embedded Analytics) for business applicability.

• Support the implementation team with technical guidance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

• Collaborate with solution architects and functional consultants to bridge innovation and delivery.

• Document POC learnings, reference architectures, and reusable components for project teams.

• Contribute to automation, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines for SAP development.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum 7 years of SAP ABAP/S/4HANA development experience, with a strong focus on innovation and prototyping.

• Expertise in:

  • ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, Performance Tuning.

  • RAP (Restful ABAP Programming Model) & CAP.

  • Fiori/UI5, OData services.

  • BTP Extensibility and Cloud Integration (Event-Driven Architecture, APIs, Event Mesh).

• Deep understanding of S/4HANA extensibility concepts: in-app, on-stack, and side-by-side.

• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, DevOps, and test automation in SAP environments.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to coordinate implementation plans, operational tasks, escalations, and performance improvements.
