Python Consultant for Scalability Initiative
Are you passionate about scalable backend architectures and cloud-native solutions? We are seeking a skilled consultant to help drive the evolution and scaling of Cisco Failure Analytics Tool, CFAT. The CFAT service ingests failure logs from thousands of devices and test runs daily and performs real-time analysis to support mission-critical diagnostics across Cisco products.
To support greater scalability, reliability, and maintainability, CFAT is moving toward a Kubernetes-based deployment model. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in system architecture, deep Python expertise, and hands-on experience building and running services in Kubernetes environments.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the CFAT team to design a scalable, cloud-native architecture for crash analytics in Kubernetes.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of the migration from VM-based infrastructure to Kubernetes.
• Refactor the existing Python codebase for containerization and Kubernetes deployment.
• Identify and implement improvements for scalability, reliability, and performance during the migration.
• Take ownership of architectural decisions and technical deliverables, working independently while engaging with the team.
• Share insights and best practices for cloud-native Python services and distributed systems.
Qualifications:
• Solid experience developing backend services in Python.
• Proven experience designing, deploying, and maintaining services on Kubernetes.
• Strong architectural skills, with a track record of building scalable and reliable solutions.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex tasks.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
