Program Manager (Data Engineering Background)

Location: remotely, occasional travel to London (if needed) for planning or key client ceremonies.

Summary: We are seeking a Program Manager with a strong Data Engineering background to oversee customer onboarding and manage the delivery of data initiatives for a global analytics company.

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage complex data engineering programs across multiple workstreams.

• Own customer onboarding workflows including planning, requirement gathering, coordination, and technical alignment.

• Drive end-to-end delivery governance—milestones, risks/issues, dependencies, and change requests.

• Establish and maintain program dashboards, weekly reports, and executive-level updates.

• Ensure delivery timelines, quality, and SLAs are consistently met.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for UK client stakeholders.

• Conduct regular status meetings, steering committees, and program reviews.

• Translate business needs into actionable plans for engineering teams.

• Proactively identify delivery risks and implement mitigation strategies.

• Collaborate with engineering leads to ensure technical feasibility and roadmap alignment.

Key Requirements:

• 8–12 years of experience in Program/Project Management, preferably in data engineering or data platform projects.

• Strong understanding of data pipelines, ETL/ELT, cloud data platforms (Azure/GCP/AWS), data modeling, and engineering workflows.

• Experience working with UK/European clients in a nearshore or hybrid delivery model.

• Proven track record in customer onboarding, requirement gathering, and delivery governance.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.

• Strong proficiency with project management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, MS Project, etc.).

• Ability to prepare and present clear weekly/monthly status reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.

Nice to Have:

• Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, CSM, or cloud certifications (Azure/GCP/AWS).

• Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.

• Exposure to data products, analytics platforms, or migration programs.
