Product Owner

emagine is looking for a passionate and experienced Product Owner to lead a confidential game project to the client.

Start: February 2026
End: October (possibly to December)
Location: Stockholm or Malmö (60% must be onsite)

In this role, you’ll guide a transformative project designed to elevate the foundation of the game and prepare it for the years ahead.

You’ll be responsible for overseeing a substantial, long-term effort supported by a dedicated team of around 30 developers in what we call a Cell. Working alongside a cross-disciplinary leadership group, you’ll ensure the project remains healthy, coordinated, and consistently moving toward delivering meaningful improvements our players will feel—even if they don’t see them directly.

As this is a senior position, you will also have opportunities to contribute across adjacent areas of development, with room for the role’s responsibilities to grow as the project evolves.

In this role, you’ll report directly to the Game Product Director and play a key part in shaping the project.

What you’ll do:

● Deliver the project on time and on quality, ensuring it successfully supports the long-term gameplay and product vision.

● Partner with the Cell Producer and Cell Subject Matter Lead to defi ne the deliveries and KPIs for all milestones, and to track progress and review progress on milestones

● With Cell Leadership, lead and set the processes and quality standards in the Cell to ensure that the team is efficient and thriving and that deliveries are reliable and sustainable

● Deeply understand developer workflows and content pipelines, to ensure that tooling improvements are built into the project that support both developer and player value over time.

● Coordinate dependencies and stakeholder deliverables across the project—collaborating closely with producers, developers, technical teams, and publishing partners to meet cost, schedule, and quality targets.

● Own and maintain the Project business case, including the budget and P&L

● Own and maintain the validation planning for the Project, including internal and external testing

● Align the Project’s direction with both existing and future gameplay experiences and engine technology initiatives, coordinating and collaborating across the full project team to ensure smooth internal alignment and rollout

Who you are:

● 5+ year of experience in either product management or game design leadership

● Managed or contributed to a P&L, product roadmaps and product requirements

● Experience with the full product loop; goal setting, execution and success tracking

● Enjoys uncertainty, has strong drive and motivation to create and lead

● Experience driving collaboration across multiple teams and stakeholders

● Being able to clearly express desired outcomes, user stories and requirements in a prioritized backlog based on player value and ROI

Bonus Qualifications:

● Deep engagement with video games in general and subsequent knowledge of project management and large-scale investments and business cases

● Experience working on live products

● Experience working on larger game teams (50+ people)

● Experience with and knowledge of Agile and Lean software development

● A strong player empathy with our audience.
