Summary: The Principal Data Engineer will lead strategic initiatives in data engineering, driving innovation and shaping the company’s global data strategy to enhance data management solutions.
Main Responsibilities:
Provide visionary leadership to multiple teams, fostering innovation and technical excellence.
Drive the enterprise data engineering strategy, acting as a trusted advisor for technology and business stakeholders.
Establish and continuously refine best practices and standards for modern and efficient data management.
Lead the design and implementation of advanced data pipelines, platforms, and products, supporting FAIR data principles.
Oversee delivery of scalable, future-ready data management solutions.
Collaborate cross-functionally to translate complex requirements into innovative solutions, focusing on efficiency and quality.
Develop and monitor processes to ensure exceptional data quality and system performance company-wide.
Key Requirements:
Master’s degree (PhD preferred) in Data, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.
12+ years’ experience in software and data engineering, including 6+ years leading enterprise-grade data engineering initiatives.
Deep expertise in advanced data modeling, integration, metadata management, and data governance.
Extensive experience with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS); certifications are a strong plus.
Strong proficiency in Databricks, with deep knowledge of optimizing data workflows and analytics.
Extensive experience in Python for advanced data manipulation, automation, and model development.
Strong SQL skills for complex queries, performance tuning, and data extraction.
Experience with DevOps and CI/CD methodologies for reliable software delivery.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards within the life sciences sector.
Experience working with LLM (Large Language Model) APIs (e.g., OpenAI) for data-centric work, including automation, data augmentation, and advanced analytics.
Proven track record in leading technical teams, developing talent, and driving organizational transformation.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Other Details:
Location: Poland with business travels to Denmark (twice a year)
Work Environment: Remote
Contract Length: 12 months with possible extension
Salary: up to 50 euro/hour
