BI Consultant / Data Analyst – Long-Term Forecasting & Power BI

Introduction & Summary

The organization is undertaking a transformative mission within the Network Management department to develop a centralized data platform that supports reporting, analytics, and data-driven decision-making. This initiative addresses industry challenges such as energy transition and infrastructure planning, aiming to consolidate fragmented long-term forecasting data currently managed through Excel. The goal is to deliver a centralized Power BI dashboard and build a structured data foundation for scalability.

Main Responsibilities

As a BI Consultant / Data Analyst, you will structure fragmented data and translate complex business logic into scalable reporting solutions. Responsibilities include:

• Structuring and consolidating fragmented Excel datasets
• Translating complex business logic into data models
• Designing and implementing robust Power BI semantic models
• Integrating and preparing data using Databricks
• Developing a centralized management dashboard with drill-down features
• Creating visually attractive and user-friendly reporting solutions
• Ensuring the quality and maintainability of reporting and data models
• Collaborating directly with business stakeholders and key users
• Contributing to the transition from Excel to structured data sources
• Supporting modern data architectures (ODS / DWH / Data Platforms)
• Participating in requirements gathering and functional analysis

Key Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a BI Consultant / BI Expert
• Strong experience in data visualization and dashboarding
• Expertise in Power BI (dashboarding & semantic models)
• Experience with Databricks for data integration and transformations
• Understanding of ETL and Data Management concepts
• Ability to translate complex business logic into data models
• Experience with fragmented Excel-based environments
• Autonomous working style with stakeholder engagement
• Dutch language proficiency at CEFR C2 level

Nice to Have

• Experience with Microsoft Azure
• Understanding of Agile methodologies
• Knowledge of Data Vault modeling
• Strong DAX knowledge
• Familiarity with Python
• SQL expertise
• Experience with STAR schema modeling
• Reporting tools knowledge and requirements analysis skills
• Knowledge of the utilities sector and industry transformation
