A snapshot of your key responsibilities as a Senior System Administrator would be:

• Design, build, support and maintain secure, high-quality infrastructure solutions in a 24x7 mission-critical environment

• Act as the primary interface between Cyber Security Project Teams and IT Operations

• Lead infrastructure delivery for security-focused initiatives and architectural change

• Analyse existing infrastructure, identify improvements, and implement enhancements with measurable outcomes

• Support and deliver large-scale upgrade and transformation projects

• Implement high availability, disaster recovery, and resilience strategies

• Manage vulnerability remediation and security patching

• Ensure infrastructure aligns with security standards, policies, and regulatory requirements

• Produce high-quality documentation to support audits and governance

• Monitor system performance to meet availability and SLA targets

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple teams

• Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge transfer

Requirements:

• Proven experience managing complex, secure, mission-critical server infrastructure (24x7 environments)

• Experience working in large-scale and multi-site environments

• Strong Microsoft technology expertise, including:

  • Azure (IaaS, PaaS, security)

  • Windows Server (2019/2022/2025)

  • Active Directory & Group Policy

• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols

• Experience with backup and recovery solutions (NetBackup desirable)

• Demonstrated experience analysing infrastructure and delivering clear improvements and outcomes

• Experience working within secure environments, including adherence to standards and policies

Desirable:

• VMware and storage technologies

• Linux (RedHat / Oracle Enterprise Linux)

• Automation tools (Python, Ansible, REST APIs)

• Experience working within ITIL or structured process environments

Certifications:

• CompTIA Security+ (mandatory)

• Microsoft Certified: Information Security Administrator Associate (mandatory)

• MCSA / MCP and/or CCNA (desirable)
