IT Operations Specialist for a Business Critical Application

Summary

The role of the IT Operations Specialist focuses on supporting the operation and maintenance of critical applications within the organization, ensuring their availability and performance while participating in incident response and system improvement initiatives.

Main Responsibilities

• Support the team in managing low priority incidents and inquiries.

• Investigate production incidents, analyze logs and application performance, and collaborate with infrastructure teams to identify root causes.

• Participate in planning, rehearsal, and execution of production deployments alongside application management and project teams.

• Conduct deployments, verifications, and other supporting tasks to ensure successful deployment.

• Continuously improve services, analyze incidents, propose preventative actions, and suggest ways to enhance efficiency and stability in production environments.

• Engage in discussions to enhance tools and processes within the team, including proposing and participating in automation initiatives.

• Support new release planning by verifying application management requirements and testing results.

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end processes, beyond just application perspectives.

Key Requirements

• Formal degree in Information Technology or several years of equivalent experience.

• Good working knowledge of IT system deployment and the use of monitoring and logging in critical production environments.

• Experience in Splunk, SQL, Systems Mgmt & Monitoring, WebSphere MQSeries for AS/400, AppDynamics.

• Experience in incident handling, problem management, and change management, preferably within the ITIL framework.

• Proficiency in English is required.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in banking or payment accounts.

• Familiarity with infrastructure or middleware technologies, such as WebLogic, SQL databases, Kubernetes, Kafka, IBM Message Queue, and Linux.
