Due to continued growth, we are currently hiring an Infrastructure/Systems Engineer with strong Linux troubleshooting and problem-solving experience. Our consultancy specializes in providing business and technology services to clients in all sectors.
We are looking for someone with strong Linux troubleshooting skills and a solid understanding of networking and firewalls. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working at the intersection of infrastructure, automation, and security.
A snapshot of your key responsibilities:
- Maintain and support Linux-based systems (RedHat EL Derivatives, Debian Derivatives).
- Troubleshoot system-level issues, including performance, networking, and configuration problems.
- Manage and configure firewalls and security rules.
- Support on-premise server infrastructure, including virtualisation platforms.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to maintain stable and secure environments.
- Monitor system performance, respond to incidents, and provide root cause analysis.
- Implement and monitor security best practices, conduct vulnerability assessments, and assist in security incident response.
- Assist with patching, upgrades, and system health checks.
Requirements:
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS).
- Proven ability to troubleshoot operating system and hardware issues.
- Working knowledge of firewalls and networking (e.g. Host-based, Proprietary & Open Source Appliances).
- Solid understanding of core networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing).
- Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity: patching, auditing, threat mitigation, and compliance.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently or within a team.
- Disaster Recovery experience – Configuration, Storage, Hosts.
