Global Risk Analytics (GRA) provides solutions using analytics, tools, and models to identify, measure and manage key risks. GRA currently covers Wholesale Credit and Market Risk, Financial Crime Risk, Regulatory Compliance, and Operational Risk. The projects within this team are related to regulatory, digital, policy, or system-level changes.
The Financial Engineering Business Analyst (FE BA) will support Global Risk Analytics in delivering the strategic vision for the Financial Engineering infrastructure and related changes in response to regulatory and business requests.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Play a key role in communicating across teams impacted by the FE changes (such as Modelling teams, users, IT, CDO);
- Focus on improving the model development and implementation processes, including gathering business requirements, analyzing data, defining solution designs with related operational changes, and carrying out testing as part of implementation support activities;
- Interaction with various business and IT stakeholders to address business needs within the organization's policies, standards, and goals;
- Support the modeling teams and FE developers in the delivery of the strategic modeling pipeline:
- Work with the modeling team and data sources teams to produce artifacts such as data requirements, data models, and data dictionaries;
- Assist modelers in the creation of the required datasets;
- Define the business/functional architecture for the model execution and monitoring;
- Help to prepare test plans, and scripts and execute functional testing of the models’ deployment;
- Perform assessment of the production incidents related to Financial Engineering and communicate with the IT, FE, and modeling teams to help progress resolution;
- May need to guide modeling teams in the adoption of the Financial Engineering coding excellence standards.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in a quantitative subject and a minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in banking;
- Knowledge of Credit risk modeling is required. This would include an understanding of capital calculation approaches, loss distributions, credit ratings, model development, and deployment lifecycle;
- Strong data analytics background with proficiency in data modeling, definition of sourcing, transformations, controls, and lineage;
- Experience in the analysis of large datasets;
- At least intermediate proficiency in SAS, Python;
- Proven Business analysis skills for the Agile delivery approach, including epics/user stories definition, preparation of the functional specifications, solution design, testing strategy definition, and execution;
- Proficiency in JIRA;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including high proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
- Self-starter attitude with a can-do mindset, and excellent problem-solving skills;
- Experience in working with global teams across different geographies, cultures, and time zones;
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to handle conflict and manage expectations;
- Experience with Waterfall and Agile ways of working;
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) - Optional;
- FRM/PRM - Optional.
