Summary

The role of Expert IT Architect is primarily aimed at enhancing the performance of the existing PIP payments processing pipeline by redesigning microservices to achieve high throughput and low latency, in line with the SEK Batch initiative.

Main Responsibilities

• Architectural redesign of microservices for improved performance.

• Ensure applications can handle 15-30k Transactions Per Second (TPS).

• Collaborate with development teams to leverage Java and Python skills.

• Implement and utilize technologies such as Apache Kafka and Apache Spark.

• Facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.

Key Requirements

• Proven expertise in high-throughput/low-latency applications capable of achieving up to 50k TPS.

• Experience with both monolith and microservices architectures.

• Strong proficiency in Java for effective communication with development teams.

• Python experience for scripting and data processing.

• Familiarity with technologies: Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Redis, various databases.

• General comprehension of IBM Mainframe and legacy systems.

• Strong leadership abilities and delivery orientation.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience as an architect in large international projects.

• Background in data engineering.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge in payments processing and transactions.

• Understanding of data management.

• Familiarity with security compliance standards (GDPR, PCI).

• Experience in the banking sector.
