Job description

We are looking for an embedded QA to our gaming client.

Start: ASAP

Length: 6 months with possible extension

Location: Stockholm on-site required 3 days per week

Summary

Drive the quality mindset within your team by introducing, evaluating, and adapting methodologies to best suit your team's needs. Help team members uphold quality throughout the project through coaching, assessment, support, and testing.

Support your team and project by identifying areas where quality processes can be improved, and help implement ways to catch issues early, such as test automation, team testing, process improvements, and other collaborative quality efforts. Identify and flag risks within your project to support informed decision-making. Support feature and content development throughout the full development process, and test and evaluate features on mobile and Unity platforms.

Tasks

In this role you will:
- Identify and raise questions about: risks, blockers, requirements, legal and platform compliance, dependencies, missing information, and more.
- Assess risks, for example by design and implementation decisions.
- Assist in mapping the rules and scenarios that the team's work need to adhere to.
- Create, maintain, and update scripts, test cases, and test plans.
- Keen to learn and support the creation of automation requirements and write effective test scripts.
- Identify tooling needs.
- Communicate and collaborate with different crafts, roles, stakeholders - designers, developers, artists, and others.
- Provide experienced manual testing both during development and as part of the Github PR flow.
- Oversee the lifecycle of game bugs within your team using Jira
- Organize and drive internal and external test sessions.

Responsibilities

As an Embedded QA, you will be responsible for:
- Improving and supporting the QA process for our studio, including bug prevention and encouraging shared quality ownership within the team. You will be a vocal voice for quality and help challenge the status quo where needed.
- Collaborating with other QA team members to share knowledge and encourage best practices across teams and projects.
- Performing manual and technical testing across two to three different mobile platforms, through both exploratory testing and feature testing.
- Working with stakeholders on releases and post-release monitoring, following up on community issues together with customer service, and sharing feedback with the team.
- Taking on additional appropriate responsibilities for your team and craft when needed to support delivery.

Stakeholders

Team Producer: As QA, you have one of the most "complete" user-facing views of the project. Because of this, your producer will rely on you to identify issues, predict risks for features, and champion a quality mindset within the team. At times, they may rely on your expertise to help guide team decision-making and support improvements to team processes.

Project QA Lead: You are the QA expert within your team and the main point of contact for your lead to understand the work your team is doing and planning. You will provide the information they need to make informed decisions at the project level, and in return they will offer support and guidance to help drive continuous improvement. Additionally, some craft-level tasks may be delegated to you by your lead.
