DevOps Engineer – IaaS Infrastructure & Ansible Automation (m/w/d)

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer (m/f/d) with strong expertise in Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) deployments and lifecycle management. In this role, you will design, automate, and maintain infrastructure environments with Ansible at the core, ensuring that the systems are scalable, reliable, and efficiently managed throughout their entire lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage IaaS-based infrastructure across on-premise and/or cloud environments.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management using Ansible playbooks, roles, and collections.
• Develop repeatable and scalable infrastructure patterns (Infrastructure as Code, IaC).
• Manage the full infrastructure lifecycle: provisioning, scaling, patching, upgrades, and decommissioning.
• Integrate infrastructure automation into CI/CD pipelines for consistent deployments.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure infrastructure reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure automation with application delivery needs.
• Ensure security, compliance, and governance requirements are integrated into infrastructure deployments.
• Document automation frameworks and promote knowledge-sharing within the team.

Your Profile:

• Several years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or System Engineering.
• Proven expertise with Ansible (playbooks, roles, collections, AWX/Ansible Tower).
• Strong experience with IaaS deployments and lifecycle management (VMs, storage, networking).
• Proficient in cloud and/or hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware, OpenStack).
• Solid background in Linux and/or Windows system administration.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.).
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is an advantage.
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Proven experience working in security-critical IT environments.
• Ü2 security clearance (Sicherheitsüberprüfung - SÜ2).
• Analytical thinker with a passion for automation and lifecycle optimization.
• Excellent English communication skills (German is a plus).
