Position Title: Civil / Finishing Engineer
Location: UAE
Employment Type: 2-year engagement

Role Purpose

The Civil / Finishing Engineer will be responsible for planning, supervising, and executing civil, structural, renovation, and finishing works within commercial and residential buildings. The role ensures that maintenance and project activities are executed safely, efficiently, and aligned with quality standards, building codes, and operational requirements.

Main Responsibilities

This position encompasses a broad range of duties, including overseeing maintenance and renovation projects.

• Supervise daily civil and finishing maintenance activities (carpentry, masonry, tiling, painting, plastering, roofing, flooring, façade, etc.).

• Conduct routine inspections to identify wear, defects, and required corrective actions.

• Ensure execution of planned preventive maintenance (PPM).

• Monitor building elements such as walls, ceilings, partitions, doors, windows, floors, and external facades.

• Plan and execute refurbishment, renovation, and fit-out works.

• Review project documents: drawings, BOQs, and material submittals.

• Ensure timely delivery of work within approved budgets and schedules.

• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.

• Prepare snag lists and supervise defect resolution.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

• 5–7+ years of relevant experience in building maintenance or finishing works.

• Experience in commercial & residential environments preferred.

• UAE/GCC experience is an advantage.

• Certifications in Facilities Management or HSE are beneficial.

• Strong knowledge of civil & finishing materials, standards, and techniques.

• Technical drawing literacy.

• Familiarity with CAFM & FM workflows.

• Strong vendor and contractor management.

• High attention to detail and quality control.

• Strong communication and reporting skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience in renovation projects.

• Knowledge of using project management software tools.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Other Details

This is a full-time position based in the UAE involving a 2-year engagement, focusing on commercial and residential building projects.
