Job Description
The strategy and governance team within HBEU technology supports the Europe CIO in their submissions to the HBEU Board and regulators. This role offers exposure to various crucial topics, making it an exciting opportunity to oversee strategic, performance, and regulatory activities in Europe.
High-quality submissions require excellent communication skills, the ability to synthesize material from diverse sources, and the experience to verify submissions, addressing potential questions from the Board for completeness.
The successful candidate will gain exposure to cross-organizational domains with frequent interactions with senior leaders, necessitating precision and thoroughness in data management and the confidence to brief senior leaders effectively.
This role provides a chance to broaden understanding of activities within the HBEU Technology team and expand knowledge in multiple areas such as Cyber, AI, Risk and Controls, and Service Performance.
The team's expertise often leads to leadership roles in emerging initiatives, such as OpRes and TRCB, requiring problem-solving and solution identification skills.
Key responsibilities include managing calendar logistics, preparing submissions, and tracking governance duties, adapting to evolving priorities as necessary.
Main Responsibilities:
Manage the calendar for all Board, Reg, and stakeholder submissions, including reviews from senior stakeholders.
Assist the GCB3 lead in preparing Board papers and regulatory submissions; gradually take ownership of some submissions.
Manage scorecards related to TRCB and DORA metrics.
Coordinate periodic submissions to regulators, such as quarterly PRA stocktakes.
Advocate for a Europe lens on data and challenge Group stakeholders.
Support ad-hoc projects and programme management demands.
Manage logistics for governance meetings, including booking and documentation.
Track and manage hygiene activities and mandatory training.
Key Requirements:
A proven track record of building networks with multiple stakeholders to ensure timely and complete deliverables.
Ability to simplify complex information for time-crunched senior stakeholders.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Data visualization skills to utilize charts and diagrams effectively.
Analytical skills to derive insights from complex datasets.
Discipline in managing multiple deliverables and keeping trackers updated.
Nice to Have:
Previous experience in regulatory environments.
Familiarity with project management principles.
