AWS DevOps Engineer

Summary: The AWS DevOps Engineer is responsible for providing expert technical support for the deployment and management of cloud-based infrastructure and applications. The primary goal of this role is to ensure efficient, reliable, and automated software development and deployment processes using AWS technologies.

Main Responsibilities:

• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation and Terraform.

• Maintain version-controlled infrastructure templates.

• Automate infrastructure provisioning and updates.

• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.

• Automate code building, testing, and deployment processes.

• Manage Docker-based deployments.

• Set up and manage OpenShift/Kubernetes (EKS) or ECS clusters.

• Automate container builds, deployments, and rollbacks.

• Manage software releases and deployments across environments.

• Perform rollbacks when necessary and manage deployment risks.

• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in applications and infrastructure.

• Utilize tools such as CloudWatch Metrics, AWS Lambda Insights, and RDS Performance Insights.

• Review DevOps backlog in Jira.

• Trigger CI/CD pipeline for deploying new features into the test environment.

• Provide expertise and support for other engineers and developers.

• Develop technical solutions and standards as code.

Key Requirements:

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation and Terraform.

• Proficiency in CI/CD tools, specifically Jenkins and GitHub Actions.

• Hands-on experience with Docker and container orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift).

• Solid understanding of AWS services and cloud infrastructure management.

• Knowledge of performance monitoring tools such as CloudWatch.

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.

• Experience with RDS and performance tuning in AWS.

• Knowledge of security compliance requirements in cloud environments.

• Prior experience with complex cloud-based application deployments.
