2D Character Animators

We are looking for two 2D Character Animators to our gaming client. 

Role 1:

Start: ASAP

Length: 12 months

Location: Stockholm hybrid (needs to be on-site 2-3 days per week)

Desired Seniority Level: Mid-level, worked 5+ years

Role 2:

Start: May

Length: Mid-August

As a 2D Character Animator, you will create character-driven animation built around storytelling, acting and entertainment value. You’ll bring our characters to life through clear posing, strong character acting and readable visual narratives.

You’ll work on engaging, on-brand animation for marketing campaigns across our channels and ad platforms. You’ll also collaborate with internal creatives to ensure our animation maintains a consistent style and quality.

Software knowledge

• Adobe Creative Suite: Advanced proficiency in After Effects (primary tool) and Illustrator

• Familiarity with Premiere Pro is a plus

• Understanding of platform specs and requirements for different digital channels (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, etc)

What you’ll be doing

Ideation and Creative Development
Take part in briefings and ideations, contributing concept and asset ideas, and turning selected ideas into final assets and animation.

Character Animation and Acting
Create expressive 2D character animation with strong acting, clear posing and emotionally readable performances.

Storytelling for Marketing
Animate storytelling-led marketing content such as trailers, short promotional videos, showreels and other campaign formats.

Cross-Channel Delivery
Adapt animations across formats and placements while keeping consistency in quality, timing and storytelling.

Collaboration 

Work closely with other animators, artists and marketing creatives to develop and refine existing and new storytelling formats.

Brand Alignment
Ensure everything you create follows our visual guidelines and graphical style.

Candidate requirements

• Proven experience as a 2D character animator

• Strong character acting skills and ability to communicate emotion through animation

• Solid craft in timing, posing and performance clarity

• Comfortable working in an iterative feedback process

• Advanced After Effects skills (Illustrator required)
