Your responsibilities:
Your responsibilities:
The lead developer is supposed to meet all requirements of a senior backend developer in regard to experience and skillset.
In addition, the lead developer also:
- Is comfortable with management aspects of a product involving stakeholders of other technical teams like DevOps, data science, quality assurance, application support, and others
- Team lead and people leadership qualities for guiding other developers on product and mentoring junior developers (but no reporting line)
- Needs to demonstrate technical leadership on product and tech stack in broader sense by aligning with other lead developers on standards
- Knows what ‘good’ looks like, understanding of best practice and accountable for technical quality of product
- Is responsible for dependencies of a product and needs to anticipate impact of changes to the product (by other products, infrastructure, DevOps)
Our requirements:
Most important:
- Backend applications: Mostly coded in Java
- Event streaming: Confluent Kafka (KStreams etc.)
- Database technologies: Mostly MongoDB Atlas (and some PostgreSQL)
Fairly important:
- Authentication: OIDC, OAuth2, SAML
- Containerization: Docker
- Container orchestration: Kubernetes
- Logging, monitoring & Alerting: ELK stack
Least important:
- Version control: Azure DevOps
- CI/CD Pipelines: Jenkins, Argo, Azure DevOps
- Requirements: Jira
- Documentation: Confluence
