ION IT2 Developer (Treasury & Banking)

📍 Location: Anywhere in Europe (including UK) - must work in Amsterdam time zone💼 Project: Treasury & Banking🕒 Contract: B2B (preferred)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced ION IT2 Developer who will play a key role in developing, enhancing, and supporting custom integrations, data parsers, and automation within the ION IT2 ecosystem. If you enjoy complex problem-solving, deep-dive troubleshooting, and working at the heart of treasury technology, this role is for you.

Your Responsibilities

• Modify, enhance, and maintain custom data parsers in ION IT2 using and relevant APIs for onboarding banks, payments, and statements.

• Develop and maintain automation and system integrations between IT2 and enterprise platforms, leveraging strong knowledge of the IT2 data model and schema.

• Analyze IT2 logs, debug production issues, identify exceptions, and implement permanent fixes.

• Design and optimize IT2 scripts (Object REXX, VBScript, Visual Basic) to automate treasury workflows.

• Write and improve complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and routines while ensuring data integrity and compliance with ION standards.

• Build and troubleshoot parsers to support new and existing banks for payment instructions, bank statements, and reconciliation formats.

• Monitor IT2 system performance, detect recurring issues, aObject REXXnd deliver preventive solutions.

• Manage user access, perform system health checks, and support maintenance activities.

• Collaborate with ION vendor support on escalations, patches, fixes, and upgrades.

• Document system changes, troubleshooting steps, and best practices for internal knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an ION IT2 Core Developer (design, development, deployment, troubleshooting).

• Strong expertise in Object REXX, scripting languages (VBScript/Visual Basic), and object-oriented programming.

• Hands-on understanding of the IT2 data model, reporting structures, and data flows.

• Solid SQL skills - queries, stored procedures, optimization.

• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience with treasury or banking integrations is a strong advantage.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with bank onboarding, payment formats, or reconciliation flows.

• Familiarity with enterprise financial systems or Treasury Management Systems.
