Enterprise Data Governance Lead I Warsaw
Working mode: Hybrid from Warsaw 2-3 times per week
Working hours: from 12pm to 9pm CET
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Governance Lead to drive and scale enterprise-wide data governance and stewardship capabilities within a global organization. This is a strategic role for a data governance professional who can translate governance frameworks, policies, and regulatory requirements into practical, business-friendly processes that enable trusted, compliant, and AI-ready data across the enterprise.
As a key governance leader, you will collaborate with stakeholders across business, technology, security, legal, privacy, and compliance teams to strengthen data ownership, improve data quality, enhance metadata management, and accelerate the adoption of governance best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the implementation and adoption of enterprise data governance and stewardship frameworks.
Drive onboarding of business domains into the federated governance model, including stakeholder enablement and governance process adoption.
Implement and enhance enterprise data catalog, metadata management, and data discovery capabilities.
Partner with cross-functional teams to embed governance practices into day-to-day operations.
Develop and maintain governance policies, standards, processes, and best practices.
Establish, monitor, and report on governance KPIs, including stewardship engagement, metadata coverage, and governance maturity metrics.
Coordinate and oversee governance-related initiatives delivered by internal teams and external service providers.
Facilitate governance workshops, stakeholder discussions, and decision-making processes to align business and regulatory requirements.
Support data quality, data classification, metadata enrichment, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
Evaluate and leverage AI-enabled solutions to improve governance efficiency and stewardship processes.
Drive continuous improvement of governance practices through feedback, measurement, and innovation.
Required Skills & Experience
7+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Stewardship, Data Management, or related disciplines.
Proven expertise in enterprise-scale data governance programs and federated operating models.
Hands-on experience with data governance platforms such as Informatica (IDMC, CDGC, CDQ, CDMP, AXON), Atlan, Alation, or similar solutions.
Strong understanding of metadata management, data lineage, data classification, and data quality practices.
Experience implementing governance frameworks, standards, and operating models across multiple business domains.
Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive adoption without direct authority.
Strong project and program management skills, including coordination of cross-functional and third-party teams.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management abilities.
Ability to translate governance strategy into scalable and actionable business processes.
Nice to Have
Experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks.
Knowledge of AI governance, data readiness for AI/ML initiatives, and model governance practices.
Experience within regulated industries such as Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, or Financial Services.
Familiarity with governance requirements related to GxP, clinical, research, or highly regulated data environments.
Professional certifications such as CDMP, DGSP, DCAM, or equivalent.
