Position overview
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in a strategic initiative to build a centralized, scalable data ecosystem. This role focuses on the visualization layer, transforming complex data architectures into intuitive, high-impact dashboards that support analytics and C-level executive decision-making.
The Tableau Engineer will join a newly forming team of data specialists, working at the intersection of engineering and business intelligence. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated visualization solutions that provide clear insights into investment performance and portfolio data.
Responsibilities
Design and develop complex, interactive Tableau dashboards and workbooks that translate business requirements into visual insights.
Collaborate with data engineers to connect Tableau to the centralized data ecosystem (e.g., Snowflake) and optimize data extracts and live connections for performance.
Create high-level executive summaries and operational reports that enable data-driven decision-making for senior leadership.
Optimize dashboard performance and SQL queries to ensure fast load times and a seamless user experience.
Establish and maintain visualization best practices, style guides, and security protocols for data access within Tableau Server/Cloud.
Conduct thorough testing of data accuracy and visualization logic to ensure reliability in a regulated financial context.
Requirements
Extensive experience in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Cloud, with a deep understanding of LOD expressions, parameters, and advanced mapping.
Strong SQL skills for data preparation, blending, and troubleshooting complex datasets.
Experience working with financial, investment, or wealth management data, including an understanding of portfolio performance metrics.
Proven ability to translate complex business logic into clean, intuitive, and professional UI/UX designs.
Familiarity with working in Agile environments and collaborating with Business Analysts and Product owners.
Ability to explain technical visualization concepts to non-technical business stakeholders.
Nice to have
Tableau Desktop/Server Certification.
Experience with Snowflake as a primary data source.
Knowledge of other BI tools (e.g., Salesforce, Addepar) or programming languages like Python for data manipulation.
Familiarity with financial regulations regarding data privacy and reporting.
