About the Role

We are looking for an AI Governance Architect to lead the design and implementation of governance frameworks for AI within complex enterprise environments.

This role focuses on establishing scalable, structured, and enforceable governance models that ensure secure, compliant, and controlled use of AI technologies across multiple teams and business units.

You will be responsible for defining, designing, and driving the implementation of AI governance frameworks, covering areas such as security, risk management, regulatory compliance, and AI lifecycle management.

The role requires operating at both strategic and execution level, translating regulatory and security requirements into practical governance structures, and ensuring their effective adoption across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the AI governance framework across complex enterprise environments.

• Design and drive rollout of governance structures covering:

  • security.

  • risk management.

  • regulatory compliance.

  • AI lifecycle management.

• Establish and scale AI inventory, classification, and risk assessment models.

• Define and implement AI control mechanisms, including:

  • policy enforcement.

  • approval workflows.

  • monitoring and audit structures.

• Architect governance for Microsoft 365 / Copilot environments, ensuring secure and compliant AI usage.

• Align governance with enterprise security architecture, including network-level controls and monitoring.

• Collaborate with Security, Legal, Data Governance, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and adoption.

• Drive integration of governance processes into enterprise tooling ecosystems (e.g. Microsoft stack, LeanIX, OneTrust).

• Translate regulatory requirements (e.g. EU AI Act) into practical and scalable governance models.

• Ensure governance frameworks are adopted and operationalized across the organization, not only defined.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Governance Architect / Security Architect / Solution Architect role.

• Experience building or scaling governance across large, complex, or multi-entity organizations, not only within a single team or project.

• Hands-on experience with enterprise AI / LLM implementations (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, internal AI systems).

• Strong understanding of AI governance, risk frameworks, and regulatory requirements.

• Experience working in regulated environments and aligning solutions with compliance requirements.

• Hands-on experience implementing governance frameworks at scale (not only designing them).

• Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 security & governance ecosystem, including:

  • Microsoft Purview (DLP, sensitivity labels, information protection).

  • Conditional Access.

  • Audit logs and app governance (especially for AI/Copilot workloads).

• Experience designing and implementing:

  • AI inventory and discovery frameworks.

  • risk classification and scoring models.

  • governance workflows (approvals, exceptions, monitoring).

• Understanding of agentic AI control models, including guardrails, triggers, and execution constraints.

• Strong knowledge of enterprise security controls, including tools such as Microsoft Defender, Zscaler or similar.

• Experience integrating governance processes with enterprise platforms (e.g. LeanIX, OneTrust).

• Ability to work across multiple stakeholders and business units in an international environment.

• Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex topics into actionable frameworks.
