Senior Azure Solution Architect

You will be taking ownership of an existing, complex Azure-based platform that needs stability, reliability, and professional governance. You will step into a transition environment with incomplete documentation and, from day one, act as the technical authority. Your goal is to eliminate single points of failure, optimize deployments, and define the architecture standards that will guide the platform’s future evolution.

• Seniority: Senior / Expert (Equivalent to Azure Solutions Architect Expert level).

  To be considered, a candidate must show:

  1. Direct Ownership: Clear evidence of making architecture decisions (not just a "support" role).

  2. Project Clarity: At least one project involving a complex system review or redesign.

  3. Detailed Tech Stack: Every project must list the specific tools and the candidate's exact responsibilities.

  4. Hands-on Impact: Visibility of how they handled complexity and improved real-world performance.

Responsibilities

• Platform Takeover: Analyze fragmented systems to define shared vs. non-shared components and introduce rigorous structure.

• Stabilization: Improve uptime and resilience by addressing deployment-related downtime and single points of failure.

• Architecture Governance: Define and enforce standards while navigating a "transition" environment with missing knowledge.

• Edge & Traffic Management: Design and troubleshoot platform entry points, focusing heavily on DNS, Azure Front Door, and routing logic.

• DevOps Integration: Connect architectural decisions to real-world delivery via CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep).

• Stakeholder Leadership: Work directly with senior strategy stakeholders to explain trade-offs and challenge technical decisions when necessary.

Requirements

• Azure Mastery: Proven experience in High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and scalable cloud design.

• Networking & Edge: Deep, "very critical" understanding of Azure Front Door, DNS, and edge traffic management.

• Integration: Experience with API-driven, decoupled architectures and multi-system integrations.

• Reliability Engineering: Strong grasp of Observability, monitoring, and incident-driven system improvements.

• Hands-on Tools: Practical experience with Terraform or Bicep and modern CI/CD pipelines.
