Offering a complete ecosystem of maritime services, including broking, finance, port services and research, Clarksons is at the heart of global shipping. Our unrivalled reach, expertise, and depth of experience, combined with leading research, enables us to partner with clients across every sector to meet the demands of the world’s rapidly evolving maritime, offshore, trade and energy markets. Building on our unique heritage and harnessing our insights to see further, faster, we work with our clients and communities to create strategies that have a positive impact on industry and the world around us. Dedicated to excellence, it’s our people that drive success for our clients. To understand more including day-to-day life at Clarksons, visit us at www.clarksons.com

    The Role

We’re looking for a Tech Lead (or a strong Senior Developer ready to step up) who wants to make a lasting impact - not just through code, but by shaping how we build and evolve systems that matter. You’ll guide the technical direction across multiple products, support a team of engineers, and lead by example in improving both code quality and engineering culture.

Working with us, you’ll become part of an international team building and modernizing digital solutions for the maritime industry - a critical sector where stability, transparency, and reliability are paramount. Some of our systems are modern, others are complex and deeply embedded - and your work will help bridge that gap.

    Responsibilities

    • Play an active, hands-on role: Work alongside your team — developing, testing, and releasing new features while setting the standard for high-quality code and delivery.
    • Lead by example: Drive technical excellence across products, influencing architecture, quality, and maintainability.
    • Build for the long term: Balance delivery with investment in foundational improvements — from better observability to CI/CD practices.
    • Own technical direction: Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to define and execute on a sustainable tech strategy.
    • Modernize legacy systems: Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt and improve performance, reliability, and developer experience.
    • Work in an international team - the team consists of people of different nationalities, so all communication is based on English.
    • Working in the Agile fashion framework.

    Core Skills

    • Strong English communication skills (B2+ or higher) - both written and spoken, to collaborate effectively in an international environment.
    • Expertise in the .NET ecosystem - including C#, frameworks, and tooling.
    • Solid understanding of system design and DevOps - experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing strategies.
    • Proficient in working with databases - including both SQL and NoSQL, with experience in schema design and query optimization.
    • Practical experience with Azure services.
    • Excellent communication and leadership abilities – confident in collaborating, guiding, and influencing technical direction.
    • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and roadmaps – ensuring alignment between delivery and long-term sustainability.
    • Proactive, self-driven mindset with strong ownership – takes initiative and drives initiatives from start to finish.
    • Exposure to frontend technologies – in any common frontend frameworks.

    Nice to Have

    • On-premises infrastructure experience – helpful in hybrid cloud environments.
    • Understanding of application security principles – including authentication, authorization, and secure coding practices.
    • Mentoring and coaching experience.
    • Background in improving legacy systems – experience modernizing monoliths, untangling spaghetti code, or transitioning away from stored procedures.
    • Familiarity with Agile methodologies – comfortable working in iterative, cross-functional team environments.

    What you can expect

Despite our growth, we managed to maintain a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere of a tightly knit team that can implement complex projects comprehensively and effectively. Each of us knows what is expected from us and has adequate space and freedom of action.

The actual work is important, but it’s also essential for us at Clarksons that we all stay happy, relaxed and motivated. That’s why we provide a wide range of benefits to all our employees:

    • Private medical care (Luxmed)
    • Voluntary group life insurance
    • MyBenefit or Multisport card
    • Language courses (English and German)
    • Employee referral program
    • Paid days off from services (B2B)
    • A paid day off to care for your health - “Dzień na U”
    • Integration events, joint company trips, birthday celebrations and many other

    What we offer

    • Salary: DOE 27 000 – 32 000 PLN/month (B2B) or UoP
    • Flexible working hours
    • You choose how you work - from our office in Poznań or remotely from home, or like most of us, work hybrid.
    • Strong focus on growth, interesting projects & people who enjoy working with each other!
