As a Frontend Developer, you are an integral part of a cross-functional team and report to your Team Lead Engineering. You work closely with your teammates, product management, as well as UX and other specialist departments to realize innovative and customer-oriented solutions.

Your Mission

You develop high-quality and scalable frontend architectures with passion and technical expertise. Through your commitment, you contribute significantly to implementing technical innovations and continuously improving the User Experience (UX).

Your focus is clearly on the Web Frontend with React and TypeScript. At the same time, you are curious about neighboring technologies: Your know-how (or your interest) in Flutter helps us bridge the gap between Web and Mobile App and leverage synergies.

Your tasks in detail

• Technical Responsibility & Development:

  • Analyze, design, and implement new features for our online shops – from the first idea to going live.

  • Develop performant, reusable components in React and TypeScript and ensure a pixel-perfect implementation of sophisticated UI/UX designs.

  • Use your understanding of mobile development (Flutter) to promote professional exchange with the App Team and ensure consistent user journeys across Web and App.

  • Conduct code reviews and promote the application of Clean Code and Test-Driven Development in the frontend.

  • Recognize technical debt and derive targeted measures for its reduction.

• Quality Assurance & Best Practices:

  • Ensure high development standards, test processes (Unit, Integration, E2E tests), and technical documentation.

  • Optimize the performance of our web applications (Core Web Vitals) and ensure accessibility (a11y).

  • Identify and actively support the maintenance and optimization of frontend build pipelines and test environments.

• Collaboration & Planning:

  • Work closely with product management and your team to specify requirements, realistically estimate development efforts, and implement solutions effectively.

  • Actively participate in decisions regarding technological direction and bring in suggestions for selecting suitable tools and frameworks in the React ecosystem.

• Operations & Infrastructure:

  • Support the operation and monitoring of the applications you have developed (Monitoring, Error Tracking).

  • Actively help to continuously improve CI/CD processes for the frontend.

What you bring

• At least 3 years of practical experience in frontend development, ideally in an e-commerce environment.

• Excellent knowledge of TypeScript and React as well as modern HTML and CSS (SASS/LESS, CSS-in-JS, or Tailwind).

• An advantage: Knowledge of Flutter and Dart. You understand the concepts of mobile development and can exchange ideas on an equal footing with our mobile developers or even support them punctually.

• Familiarity with architectural concepts such as Micro-Frontends, Domain Driven Design (DDD), or Self-Contained Systems is an advantage.

• Knowledge of handling REST APIs as well as GraphQL.

• Broad experience with CI/CD tools, container technologies (Docker), and an affinity for agile working methods.

• A high degree of quality awareness for Clean Code, tests (e.g., Jest, Cypress, Playwright), and technical documentation.

• Strong communication skills, openness to constructive feedback, and a cooperative way of working.

• Active exchange within the developer community as well as the willingness to regularly bring new knowledge and innovative ideas to the team.
